FAQ
Ask us anything.
How do I book a shipment?
WhatsApp us at 017-435 0515. Tell us your vehicle, route, and preferred dates. We'll send a quote within an hour. Once you confirm, we'll send the documents checklist and lock your sailing slot.
How early should I book?
Sailings fill up 1–2 weeks in advance, especially around school holidays and Hari Raya. We recommend booking at least 10 days before your preferred sailing date.
What's the cancellation policy?
Full refund up to 72 hours before scheduled sailing. After that, 50% refund or free reschedule to the next sailing. Once at sea, no cancellation.
Are the prices all-in?
Yes — our quoted prices include freight, port charges, handling & forwarding, fuel surcharge (LSS), VTC parking fees, and port congestion. The only thing NOT included is marine insurance, which is calculated based on your vehicle value.
Why is marine insurance separate?
Every vehicle has a different market value, so the insurance premium varies. We'll quote it separately based on your vehicle's value. It's optional but strongly recommended.
Do you have hidden charges?
No. Every charge is itemized in your quote upfront. The only additional charges that may apply are: door pickup/delivery (RM 150–700), declaration fee for personal items (RM 250 per set), or special handling for lowered vehicles.
How long does shipping take?
RoRo (Port Klang ↔ Sabah/Sarawak) takes 8–12 days at sea, plus 1–2 days for customs clearance. Container shipping takes ~3 weeks total. Door-to-door adds 1–2 days for pickup and delivery.
What's the difference between RoRo and Container?
RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off): vehicle is driven onto the vessel, must be empty. More economical, faster (8–12 days). Container: vehicle is loaded into a container, you can put belongings inside (with restrictions). Slower (~3 weeks) but safer for high-value vehicles.
Can I put belongings inside my vehicle?
RoRo: NO — vehicle must be completely empty per port regulations. Container: YES — household items, clothing, books, kitchen utensils are allowed (with packing list, max 5 packages). Electronics and flammable items are NOT allowed.
What does marine insurance cover?
✓ Fire & explosion
✓ Ship sinking, capsizing, grounding
✓ Loading/unloading accidents
✓ Collision (vessel or vehicle)
✓ General Average & Salvage
✗ Theft & lost personal items
✗ Damage from rough handling
✗ Damage from improper packing
✗ Delivery delays
✗ Wear & tear
Is marine insurance compulsory?
Not legally compulsory, but we strongly recommend it for any vehicle above RM 30,000. Premiums are typically 0.5–1% of declared vehicle value.
What documents do I need to provide?
Required for everyone:
• IC copy (front + back)
• Driving license copy
• Vehicle registration card (geran)
• Valid road tax
If vehicle is under hire-purchase:
• Bank release letter
If shipping under company name:
• SSM company certificate
• Authorization letter
What if my vehicle is on hire-purchase?
We'll need a release letter from your bank confirming permission to ship the vehicle. Most banks (Maybank, CIMB, Bank Muamalat, etc.) turn it around in 3–5 working days. We can guide you through the process.
How do I track my shipment?
Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive a tracking ID (e.g. MV-2026-09120). Visit moventismy.com/track and enter the ID — you'll see vessel position (updated every 6 hours), ETA, and milestone alerts. We also send WhatsApp updates at every checkpoint.
Do you do door-to-door delivery?
Yes. Pickup from your home/office to our yard, and delivery from destination port to your address. Klang Valley pickup: RM 150–500. Sabah delivery: RM 450–550 (Sandakan/Lahad Datu/Tawau). Sarawak delivery: RM 600–700 (Sibu/Bintulu/Miri).
What should I remove from my vehicle before shipping?
Remove ALL of these:
• Aftermarket accessories: power amp, subwoofer, dashcam, GPS, additional meters, Android players
• Personal items: Smart Tag, Touch n Go cards, money, cables, sunglasses, pendrives, phones
• Tools: jack, tire pump, jumper cables
• Fuel: max 1/4 tank for RoRo
All items left inside are at owner's risk — claims will not be entertained.
